Thanks for this. It's amazing to me that product safety/quality issues are seen as a barrier to the use of standardised offsite manufacturing. Seems like any standardised production process should be fundamentally less risky and easier to QA than bespoke onsite work. And as a lender you'd think that you'd rather deal with a manufacturer that has sunk $100mm into plant than a builder with few physical assets that could disappear at any time. Assigning rights and liabilities are obviously a key issue. But it's really hard to see why that is such a difficult problem to solve.
